About the Art

Nancy Burgess combines elements of traditional landscape painting with sculpture in her unique style of "relief oil painting". Most pieces are representative of the Vermont landscape and its architecture. Burgess's art aims to preserve the beauty and character of its subject by elevating it in the viewer's eye. Works shown are sculpted reliefs painted with oils, framed in shadow boxes.

Burgess's relief paintings are represented in collections throughout North America and Europe.
